One of the most basic requirements for all types of fish is filtration and heating, filtration is needed to keep the tank clean and germ free and heating will keep the water temperature perfect. Do not forget a thermometer to keep an eye on the temperature.
In order to be able to view your fish you are going to need adequate lighting, overhead lighting is a must but you can also add beauty to your aquarium by installing submersible too. No fishy home would be complete without live plants; they provide a place for fish to spawn, hide and of course are pleasing to the eye. The range of live plants is huge from long straggling background plants to low lying foreground.
