The chinchilla is a wonderful little fur ball that is well known for its luxurious fur coat. It is becoming increasingly popular as a pet and the choices of homes are huge. There is the basic plastic coated tray with wire enclosed or the more elaborate wooden cages on stands. As the chinchilla likes to climb and perch high up then a tall cage with tiers would be ideal.
However remember to give your pet somewhere to rest other than the wire and this can be in the form of thick branches propped up safely and wired down or a cooler mat. Alternatively there are several beds available which can either go in the cage or around the home.
Your chinchilla likes a
bath, however not in water but in dust so purchasing a dust bath is essential,
this plastic housing keeps the dust inside so there is no mess and only your
pet gets bathed and not your home. All pets like to play and the chinchilla is
no different, there is a wide variety of toys available from squeaky to nibbles
to keep your pet amused and keep their teeth trimmed.
Along with their main diet you can also treat your chinchilla, there is a wide variety of snacks available with which to please your pet and mineral blocks to make sure they remain healthy.
